Affordability & Property Taxes

Property Taxes: New Hampshire relies too heavily on local property taxes, particularly to fund public education. I support having the state shoulder a greater share of education costs rather than continuing to shift those costs onto local property taxpayers.

Income Tax: I do not support a broad-based tax on earned income.

Business Taxes: I support keeping New Hampshire’s business taxes competitive and reducing them when doing so can demonstrably attract businesses, create good jobs, encourage investment, and expand the tax base. Tax policy should be driven by evidence and economic results.

Fiscal Responsibility: Property-tax relief also requires responsible spending. State and local government should continually examine costs, administrative overhead, and whether taxpayers are receiving value for their money.

Public Education

School Funding: New Hampshire relies too heavily on local property taxes to fund public education. I support a greater state role in funding our public schools so communities like Nashua are not forced to carry such a large share through local property taxes.

Education Freedom Accounts: I respect parents who choose private schools or homeschooling, but I do not support an unlimited taxpayer-funded EFA program while our public schools remain inadequately funded.

Open Enrollment: I oppose requiring school districts to participate in statewide open enrollment. Local communities and school districts should retain a meaningful role in decisions that affect enrollment, staffing, facilities, and budgets.

Accountability: More state support for education should go hand-in-hand with responsible budgeting and transparency. Additional funding should benefit students and classrooms while school systems continue to examine administrative costs and use taxpayer dollars carefully.

Housing & Economic Growth

Housing: Nashua and New Hampshire need more housing that working families, young people, and seniors can afford. I support removing unnecessary barriers to housing development while also considering traffic, infrastructure, density, and the character of existing neighborhoods.

Local Input: Housing policy should encourage responsible development without imposing one-size-fits-all solutions on every community. Local residents should have a meaningful voice when development directly affects their neighborhoods.

Economic Growth: New Hampshire should remain a good place to start and grow a business. I support policies that encourage investment, innovation, good-paying jobs, and expansion of our tax base.

Workforce: Housing and economic development go together. Employers need workers, and workers need places they can afford to live. Addressing housing supply is therefore part of maintaining a strong New Hampshire economy.

Energy & Environment

Energy Costs: New Hampshire needs reliable and affordable energy. Energy policy should consider what families and businesses actually pay while maintaining a dependable electric grid.

Net Metering: I support expanded net metering so that homeowners, businesses, and communities that generate renewable electricity have a practical opportunity to participate in our energy system.

Nuclear Energy: I support keeping nuclear energy as part of New Hampshire’s energy discussion, including consideration of advanced nuclear technologies. Decisions should be based on evidence—safety, cost, reliability, waste management, and environmental impact—not ideology.

A Practical Energy Mix: I do not believe New Hampshire should prematurely rule technologies in or out. We should evaluate energy sources on their merits and pursue a reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy mix.

Rights & Personal Freedom

Reproductive Rights: I believe decisions about abortion should primarily be made by a woman in consultation with her doctor, not by politicians. I support protecting access to abortion before 24 weeks and oppose proposals for 6- or 15-week bans.

Gun Safety: I respect the constitutional right to own firearms while supporting reasonable safeguards such as background checks, due-process-based extreme-risk protections, and responsible firearm storage.

Marijuana: I distinguish between personal freedom and commercializing recreational marijuana. I support allowing adults to grow marijuana at home for private use, but I do not support creating a commercial recreational-marijuana industry or selling it through state stores. I support legitimate medical use.

Individual Rights: Government should be very cautious about restricting people's personal choices and should protect individual rights while balancing legitimate public-safety concerns.

Immigration & ICE

Immigration Reform: I support comprehensive immigration reform that strengthens our legal immigration system, addresses border security, and provides a practical and humane approach to people who have built lives in this country. Immigration laws should be enforced while respecting constitutional rights, due process, and human dignity.

ICE Detention Facilities: I oppose the proposed ICE detention facility in Merrimack. Large federal detention facilities should not be imposed on New Hampshire communities without transparency, consultation with local officials, and careful consideration of the effects on residents, public safety, and local taxpayers.

Government, Elections & Accountability

Election Integrity: Only U.S. citizens should vote in our elections. I support enforcing our election laws while making sure eligible citizens are not unnecessarily prevented from exercising their right to vote.

Fiscal Responsibility: Government has a responsibility to use taxpayer dollars carefully. I support examining spending, administrative costs, and whether programs are actually delivering the results taxpayers were promised.

Protecting Children: I support an independent Office of the Child Advocate to help protect children in state care and other vulnerable circumstances.
